Prevent Statement

At Learning without Limits Academy Trust, safeguarding and promoting the welfare of children is our highest priority. We are committed to providing a safe and supportive environment where all learners can thrive, are protected from harm, and feel confident to speak to a trusted adult. We recognise that children’s wellbeing is central to effective safeguarding and that schools play a vital role in supporting pupils’ resilience, confidence, and mental health.

The Trust recognises that safeguarding is everyone’s responsibility. All staff have a duty to be alert to signs of abuse, neglect, and exploitation, to maintain a child-centred approach, and to take appropriate action to protect learners from harm. We ensure that learners are provided with appropriate information and support, including guidance on how and where to access help when they need it.

Protecting learners from the risk of radicalisation is an integral part of our safeguarding responsibilities. We recognise that radicalisation is a safeguarding concern and that it is comparable to other forms of harm, such as substance misuse, child criminal or sexual exploitation, neglect, and abuse. The Trust has due regard to the Prevent duty and is committed to taking appropriate steps to safeguard children and young people from being drawn into terrorism.

Across all Trust schools, staff are expected to uphold and promote fundamental British Values, including democracy, the rule of law, individual liberty, and mutual respect and tolerance of those with different faiths and beliefs. These values are actively promoted through each school’s ethos, curriculum, personal development and PSHE provision, assemblies, and behaviour and teaching and learning frameworks, supporting learners to develop as responsible, respectful, and informed members of society.
